The Dodgers have recalled right-hander JT Chargois from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed left-hander Julio Urias on administrative leave.
Chargois, 28, pitched in two games during his first stint with the Dodgers from April 9-11, tossing 1.2 innings, allowing two runs and striking out one. The former Rice Owl has pitched in 11 games for Oklahoma City, going 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA (3 ER/15.1 IP) with 19 strikeouts against five walks. In three Major League seasons, he has posted a 3-5 mark with a 4.11 ERA (26 ER/57.0 IP) with 58 strikeouts and 28 walks.
Urias, 22, has appeared in nine games (four starts) this season. He is 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA (10 ER/28.1 IP) with 32 strikeouts. He recorded his first career save on May 6 against the Braves and is 2-for-2 in save chances. In his four-year MLB career, he is a combined 7-6 with a 3.60 ERA (53 ER/132.2 IP) in 35 games (24 starts).

While we wait and see about Urias, let’s hope Chargois comes up strong in the bullpen.
Praying Urias wasn’t directly involved in that domestic abuse incident. Last thing the Dodgers need right now is another needless distraction getting in the way of what may very well be their last real shot at winning a WS with this current roster. In the meantime, Chargrois has another chance to carve out a spot for himself in that ever-shifting Dodger pen.
