The Dodgers have activated left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu from the 10-day Injured List and optioned right-hander Josh Sborz to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Ryu, who was sidelined with a left groin strain, will make his fourth start of the 2019 season tonight against the Milwaukee Brewers. Prior to going on the IL, Ryu made three starts for the Dodgers, going 2-0 with a 3.07 ERA (5 ER/14.2 IP) with 14 strikeouts and one walk. Since the start of the 2018, Ryu is 9-3 with a 1.93 ERA (20 ER/93.1 IP) with 101 strikeouts against 11 walks. He is in his sixth season with the Dodgers, posting a 42-28 mark with a 3.19 ERA in 100 games (99 starts).
Sborz, 25, is in his fifth season with the Dodgers’ organization and was promoted to the Major League level for the first time on Sunday. In five minor league seasons in the Dodger organization, Sborz is 20-17 with a 3.30 ERA (118 ER/321.1 IP) with 311 strikeouts and has limited the opposition to a .230 batting average.

Too bad OKC didn’t have Sborz in the 8th inning of their game last night. Man did Schultz and Allie lit a huge bonfire in that one (with 2-outs, mind you!), sheesh…
In listening to Hershiser talk baseball during the SNLA broadcast, he mentioned that Ryu could fall out of bed and be ready to hit his marks, or miss them favorably. I admire all of the folks on the mound, but Hyun-Jin might get a little extra Atta-Boy in this regard, from yours truly.
I always appreciate the time and energy that goes into scripting a thread, this one bears/bares no different. Nice job once again, Ron.
