Team to host 400 local students for gameday experience Thursday and Friday
For the fourth consecutive year, the Dodgers will extend their Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball initiative to their Spring Training home at Camelback Ranch – Glendale, and host 400 fifth through eighth-grade local students for Cactus League games and educational programs on February 28 and March 1, the team announced on Wednesday.
In addition to taking in the game, students on Thursday, February 28 (1:05 p.m. MT vs. Rockies) and Friday, March 1 (6:05 p.m. MT vs. Padres) will get an opportunity to participate in both educational and physical activities. Following the game on February 28, over 150 students from Challenger, Bicentennial North, Desert Spirit and Sunset schools will participate in a baseball clinic lead by Dodger minor league players. On March 1, students from Mensendick, Coyote Ridge, Sine, and Glendale American schools will participate in a seminar focused on the Legacy of Jackie Robinson prior to the Dodger game.
All participants will receive an all-inclusive gameday experience, including tickets, transportation to the game, a Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball t-shirt, Dodger hat and a boxed lunch, courtesy of Delaware North Sportservice.
“We’re excited to give over 400 youth an unforgettable afternoon at the ballpark and host students from eight local schools,” said Naomi Rodriguez, Dodger Vice President of External Affairs and Community Relations. “Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball is one of our largest community programs with tens of thousands of annual participants in Los Angeles, and we’re proud to continue to extend this experience to Glendale, which has been our spring home for over a decade.”
Now in its sixth season, Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball has provided an all-inclusive gameday experience for more than 90,000 children and teens from underserved communities.
