On Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at (approximately) 1:10 p.m. PT, the first pitch of the Dodgers 2019 season on Thursday, March 28 will be exactly 100 days away; meaning, of course, that one second later it will be less than 100 days away. The game will be one of three that will be carried live on ESPN that day.
When ESPN made their official announced back on November 19, 2018, it said this:
“At 4 p.m.[ET], the National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw will host the Arizona Diamondbacks and Paul Goldschmidt.”
Barring the unthinkable, it is pretty much a given that Kershaw will indeed make the 2019 Opening Day start for the Dodgers; his ninth and the most in Dodgers history. But barring the St Louis Cardinals rescinding their December 5 acquisition of Goldschmidt from the Dbacks in exchange for catcher Carson Kelly, pitcher Luke Weaver, infielder Andy Young, and a 2019 draft pick, only half of Ben Cafardo’s press release is now accurate … fortunately.
If 99 days is still too far away for you to handle, the first spring training game of 2019 on February 23 at 12:05 p.m. PT against the White Sox at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona, is only 67 days away … so there’s that.
Play Ball!
Tentatively scheduled to be at Camelback March 9 through 14. Can hardly wait — GO DODGERS!
