The Dodgers have recalled right-handed reliever Yimi Garcia from Triple-A Oklahoma City and optioned left-hander Edward Paredes back there, to add to their increasing frequent flyer miles between LAX and Will Rogers World Airport in OKC.
This marks the third stint with the Dodgers for the 27-year-old Garcia, during which he posted a 0-1 record and lofty 7.71 ERA over his combined 4.2 innings pitched.
That being said, he threw a scoreless eighth inning with two strikeouts on May 4, 2018 to join right-hander Walker Buehler and left-handers Tony Cingrani and Adam Liberatore in throwing the first combined no-hitter in the 135-year history of the franchise and only the 11th in MLB history.
In his 12 games with the OKC Dodgers, the Dominican Republic native posted a 1-0 record and a much more respectable 3.55 ERA, with 12 strikeouts and only one walk over his 12.2 innings of work.
As for 31-year-old Edward Paredes, also from the Dominican Republic, he appeared in one game with the Dodgers thus far this season, tossing 0.2 scoreless innings in relief on May 3 against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field.
