Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball returns to Camelback Ranch

The Dodgers will once again extend their Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball initiative to their Spring Training home at Camelback Ranch – Glendale, and host 400 5th – 8th grade local students for Cactus League games and educational programs during a three-day period from March 1-3, the team announced on Wednesday.

In addition to taking in the game, students on Thursday, March 1 (1:05 p.m. MT vs. Indians) and Friday, March 2 (1:05 p.m. MT vs. White Sox) will get a behind-the-scenes look at life at Camelback Ranch – Glendale, the spring home of the Dodgers’ Major League operations and the year-round home of the club’s minor league operations. Starting at 10:00 a.m., students will rotate between an agility station, a career panel outlining the different jobs held by Dodger staff at Camelback Ranch and a ‘Day in the Life’ session with minor league players, where they’ll hear about the daily exercise, practice and nutritional habits of Dodger players. On Thursday, students from Sunset Ridge Elementary School, Desert Mirage Elementary School and Heritage Elementary School will participate in the program, while Friday’s session will be attended by Bicentennial North School and Harold W. Smith School.

On Saturday, March 3, the team will host youth from community organizations in Glendale, including R.O.O.T.S., Wheels in Motion, Desert Mirage GRASP, Heart for the City and Partners in Action, for their 1:05 p.m. MT game against the D-backs and a post-game baseball skills clinic led by Dodger prospects.

“We’re excited to partner with so many great local organizations to give over 400 local youth an unforgettable afternoon at the ballpark,” said Naomi Rodriguez, Dodger Vice President, External Affairs and Community Relations. “Glendale has been the Dodgers’ spring home for 10 years, and we feel that it’s important to continue to connect with the community and extend Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball, one of our largest annual community programs, to our Arizona neighbors.”

Now in its fifth season, Kids 4 Dodgers Baseball has provided an all-inclusive gameday experience for more than 70,000 children and teens that otherwise may not be able to attend a baseball game due to economic hardships.
