As every Dodger fan knows, the last time their beloved team won a World Series title was in 1988. As of midnight on Sunday night, that was officially 30 years ago. THIRTY YEARS.

At the time, Ronald Reagan was the President of the United States. There have been five different presidents since.

At the time, Tommy Lasorda was the Dodgers manager. There have been eight different managers since.

Since that time, the New York Yankees have won five World Series titles, the Boston Red Sox and (uggh) San Francisco Giants three, the St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays and Florida (Miami) Marlins two, and 11 other teams one each, none of them named the Dodgers. In fact, the just-concluded (and brutally painful) 2017 World Series was the first that the Dodgers had even appeared in since 1988.

As of today, January 2, 2018, there are 27 players on the Dodgers current 40-man roster who weren’t even born since the Dodgers last won a World Series title.
