Baseball America has named the Los Angeles Dodgers as its 2017 Organization of the Year, honoring the team for its success from top to bottom.

According to the publication, when deciding the award, it not only takes into account success at the Major League level, but also weighs the strength and accomplishments of the farm system as well as the team’s player personnel, analytics and scouting departments. The Dodgers previously won the award in 2006.

The Dodgers won their fifth consecutive NL West title in 2017, while finishing with a Major League-best and Los Angeles record 104 wins. In the postseason, Los Angeles swept the D-backs in the NLDS and defeated the Cubs in five games in the NLCS, as it reached the World Series and clinched its first National League pennant since 1988.

The team’s commitment to scouting and player development was evident not only at the Major League level with the contributions of homegrown players like 2017 Rookie of the Year Cody Bellinger, but throughout the minors. Dodger affiliates posted a .562 (469-366) combined winning percentage – the best among NL clubs and the third best in the Majors – with six of eight Dodger affiliates participating in postseason play.

Seven of the Dodgers’ eight minor league affiliates finished with winning records, with only the Single-A Great Lakes finishing below the .500 mark, albeit by only one game. Rookie-advanced Ogden won its first Pioneer League title since the franchise’s inception in 1994 and the Dodgers’ two Dominican Summer League teams met in the league championship game with the DSL Dodgers 2 taking home the title.
