Everything is coming up seven for Dodgers

The number seven has that magical quality. Seven notes are found in a musical scale. Seven colors make up a rainbow. A navigator aims to sail the seven seas. A traveler wishes to step foot on the seven continents. And reaching a .700 winning percentage in baseball is an accomplishment very few 25-man teams in a 162-game season ever achieve. The Dodgers just may be on their way to getting there.

Since the 162-game season was established in MLB, only two teams have reached the feat. The 1998 World Champion Yankees at 114-48 (.704) and the 2001 Seattle Mariners, a team that finished the regular season with an amazing 116-46 (.716) record, only to fall short and lose in the ALCS to an inspired Yankee team during the midst of the 9/11 tragedy season.

A 70 percent winning percentage has a special ring to it. Perhaps because of that alluring number that accompanies it. Good ‘ol lucky number 7. Following Saturday’s 2-1 victory over San Francisco, the Dodgers had the following numbers attributed to them. A seventh straight victory and a .702 winning percentage.

How about this? A 7th World Series title for the Dodger franchise in the year 2017.

There’s room for a 7th World Series banner at Dodger Stadium … and more.

Seven has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it?
