The Dodgers have reactivated super utility infielder / outfielder Kiké Hernandez from the 15-day disabled list and optioned utility catcher / infielder Austin Barnes to Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Hernandez appeared in six minor league rehab games – two with the AZL Rookie League Dodgers, two with the Advanced Single-A Rancho Cucamonga and two with the Double-A Tulsa Drillers – where he went a combined 3 for 24 (.125) with a double.
The 24-year-old San Juan, Puerto Rico native was placed on the DL on June 28 with left rib cage inflammation. In his 65 games with Dodgers this season Hernandez is hitting .189 with five home runs and 12 RBIs.
The 26-year-old Barnes is 3 for 23 (.130) with a double and an RBI during his 14 games played with the Dodgers this season.
