Major League Baseball will host a free, one-day umpire camp at the MLB Urban Youth Academy in Compton, California on Saturday, November 14. Staff for the event will include many accomplished former MLB Umpires, current MLB Supervisors and Observers, as well as Minor League Baseball Umpires. Among those participating will be Charlie Reliford, Ed Rapuano, Rich Rieker and Cris Jones.
This is MLB’s sixth and final free, one-day umpire camp of 2015 for anyone interested in umpiring in baseball and softball, including those aiming to begin professional careers. The 2015 Umpire Camps will culminate with the MLBUC Professional Mini-Camp in Ft. Myers, Florida in December.

Nineteen attendees from last year’s clinics went on to the MLB Professional Mini-Camp at no cost. Nine of the Ft. Myers attendees in 2014 advanced on MLB scholarships to the two professional umpire schools this past January, and most began their professional careers this past June. Over 100 attendees of MLB Umpire Camps have gone on to work in professional baseball since 2006.
