The Dodgers have released their much-anticipated preliminary 2016 schedule which, as reported several weeks ago, has them playing against the American League East in interleague play – including a three-game series against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium in September.
The Dodgers will kick off the 2016 regular season with three games against the Padres in San Diego on Monday, April 4. This will be followed by four games against the hated Giants at AT&T Park beginning on Thursday April 7 through April 10. The Dodgers then return to Dodger Stadium for their Home Opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday evening, April 12 for three games, followed by three more against the Giants.
Interleague play begins on Tuesday, May 2 when the Dodgers travel to Tampa Bay for two games against the Rays, followed by three games against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 4 – 6.
The annual Freeway Series against the Angels will take place on Monday, May 16 through Thursday, May 19 with the first two played at Dodger Stadium and the final two at Angel Stadium.
The Dodgers will then play host to the Rays at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26 and 27 and then host the Boston Red Sox on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 5, 6 and 7. They then concluded interleague play with the three against the Yankees in the Bronx.
Please keep in mind that this is a preliminary schedule and subject to change.
