With the 2015 season less than two months away, there is still a way for Dodger fans to get tickets for Opening Day, but only one way – by purchasing a mini-plan.
On Saturday the Dodgers held the first of two scheduled Mini-Plan Open House events at Dodger Stadium offering fans the opportunity to purchase a 20-game plan that includes Opening Day, all ten bobblehead games, and the brand new set of eight collectors’ pins; or by purchasing a 30-game ‘pick ’em’ plan that allows fans to select 30 or more games of their choosing – including Opening Day.
Oh sure, you can undoubtedly still get Opening Day tickets through a ticket broker, but if you do, be prepared to pay two, three or even four times their face value and then get hammered with insane service and “convenience” fees.
Fans who opted for the mini-plan route on Saturday got a rare treat – they got to have their photograph taken with the 1988 World Series trophy. And while this might not be a big deal for some, it was clearly a big deal for others.
Although the Dodgers have one more Mini-Plan Open House scheduled for Saturday, February 21, fans wishing to purchase mini-plans before then can do so by calling 323-224-1365.
If only I lived closer!
