Fans got more than they bargained for at JetHawks Stadium in Lancaster last night when a post-game fireworks show sparked (literally) a fire that caused minor damage to the left field wall.

The incident occurred only minutes after the JetHawks defeated the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 6-5 before a near-sellout crowd of 4,063 at The Hangar, as the stadium is affectionately known as.
Fire crews arrived quickly and extinguished the blaze before it could do more damage – especially to the video board located only yards away.

Repair work is currently underway and the damage will not affect this evening’s game between the JetHawks and Quakes.
