Over the past several days much has been written and said about June 3 being the one year anniversary of Yasiel Puig’s call-up to the major leagues. And while many Dodger fans will never forget the incredible (if not impossible) throw that Puig made in his MLB debut on a deep fly ball to right field by Padres right fielder Kyle Blanks to double up Chris Denorfia at first base to end the game, it’s what Puig did in his second game on June 4, 2013 that convinced Dodger fans everywhere that they have one of the most talented players of all time on their beloved team.
In that June 4, 2013 game, Puig not only hit his first career home run, but also his second, thus becoming the first Dodger ever to hit multiple home runs within their first two major league games.
Two nights later, on June 6, 2013, Puig hit his first career grand slam – and the rest, as they say, is history.
Although no one knows what Puig will do on the one year anniversary of his first and second career home runs, it pretty safe to assume that he will do something exciting.
He always does.
I’ll bet we are all anxious to see the great things he has for Dodger fans in the future. Was listening to Dan Patrick this morning and his question was: If you could buy “stock” in one of the following players which you think would greatly appreciate for years to come, which player would you select: Bryce Harper, Mike Trout or Y. Puig.
