Former Dodger great Steve Garvey will be the guest speaker and will hold a Q&A session with fans at Congregation Beth Shalom in Santa Clarita on Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 11:30 AM to 3 PM.
The event is open to everyone and includes a ballpark fare lunch of hot dogs, chips and drinks. After lunch, Garvey will talk about his remarkable career with the Dodgers and his glory days as a member of ‘The Infield.’ He will then open the floor to questions from fans.
During his remarkable 19-year Hall of Fame-worthy career, Garvey was a 10-time All-Star, World Series champion, NL MVP, two-time NLCS MVP, four-time Gold Glove Award winner, two-time All-Star Game MVP and recipient of the 1981 Roberto Clemente Award. His uniform number (6) was retired by the San Diego Padres following his retirement in 1987.
Tickets for the June 8th fundraiser can be purchased online through Congregation Beth Shalom or by calling Robin at 661-254-2411. VIP and kids tickets include lunch, admission to the Q&A, one item to be autographed and a photograph with Steve. General Admission tickets include lunch and admission to the Q&A session only. Additionally, there will be a Silent Auction for several great sports memorabilia items. All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit Congregation Beth Shalom.
