Okay I admit it – I’m an old guy with old guy beliefs, but when I saw the photograph that Dodger superstar rookie Yasiel Puig posted on Twitter (via Instagram) earlier this morning with him, Snoop Dog and Chris Brown together at a popular L.A. nightclub, I was a bit upset. In fact, I’ve been upset ever since hearing about Puig’s party-hardy last few days during the All-Star break (also through his own Instagram photos on Twitter and through a linked story on TMZ – not that I make a habit out of reading TMZ posts).
Now granted, the kid is only 22 years old and heaven knows that I did some pretty crazy things when I was that age (a very very long time ago), but really now, is hanging out with Snoop Dog (who has a history of drug and weapons violations) and Chris Brown (who has a history of domestic violence with his teammate Matt Kemp’s ex-girlfriend Rihanna) really a wise idea?
What are you doing, Yasiel?
I certainly understand Puig’s new-found celebrity status and his sudden and tremendous wealth, but come on kid, nothing good can possibly come from hanging around with guys like this – and I actually like some of their music.
All of this said, it didn’t dawn on me until it was suggest in yet another Twitter post that perhaps Yasiel had know idea who Snoop Dog and Chris Brown are/were and that perhaps it was they who had their photos taken with Puig instead of the other way around. If this is the case then never mind, because everyone wants to have their photo taken with Yasiel Puig, right?
…well, except maybe Ian Kennedy, Miguel Montero and Jonathan Papelbon, that is.
@Think_BlueLA Celebs who hangout at night clubs (and minor problems that come with it) is a far cry from having an entourage of street thugs
@Think_BlueLA when’d you take that pic with Puig?
When he was with the Quakes at a game at Lake Elsinore last season.
Meh, I don’t mind it tbh. I think Puig still gets excited about meeting celebrities, even though he is one now too. I doubt he’s actually going to be hanging out with these guys on a regular basis.
I agree – at least I hope so.
How did Yasiel wind up where they were? Absolutely nothing good can come of it. The options on the other side of the coin are numerous.
This is a wait and see thing to see if there are any other encounters. Hopefully not.
I had mentioned on the forum that four sponsors in Halifax have withdrawn their support for a concert in which Chris Brown is to be a part. His reputation is quite well known.
Yasiel is certainly entitled to his night life. However, it just seems he is vulnerable – new to the US, rich, very young.
Saw it on TMZ too. I thought what is this guy doing! I guess the pictures were taken at the Playboy Mansion. I hope he has someone to watch over him. People will take advantage of him because of $$$
