  1. Bluenose Dodger says:

Yasiel has some trouble with breaking pitches with the Lookouts, but one half of his 46 hits were for extra bases. Thirteen stolen bases turned other singles into doubles. His BB/K ratio was pretty good for a slugger at 1/2.

MLB pitching in mid season will be a challenge but big league or not these guys won’t get away with hanging curves, fastballs up a bit.

Yasiel will put some excitement into a crowd that needs it.

I’m glad the Dodgers are doing this. It’s been a pretty dismal season so far for the Dodgers, residing in last place in early June, 9 games under .500 and 6-18 against the other NL West teams. There has been nothing to root for. At least this will generate some excitement and justify me staying up past 1:00 AM.

One thing I’m wondering about with the Dodgers bringing up Puig is, what if he gets off to a really fast start and the Dodgers stat to win consistently and Kemp and Ethier keep plodding along at there current anemic pace. That will make four outfielders for three spots and if Puig continues to hit the Dodgers will have to keep his bat in the lineup. Someone else will have to sit. I know I’m getting ahead of myself, but I hope the Dodgers are confronted with that dilemma.

There are 107 games left in this season. That is plenty of at bats for 4 outfielders. I too hope the Dodgers have a four good hitters for three outfield spots dilemma.

I haven’t been this anxious for a game to start, since I can’t remember when.

Only 37,000 at the game? That is disappointing. If I lived in L.A., I wouldn’t have missed that game.
