To honor and celebrate Dodger legend Fernando Valenzuela’s recent induction into the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame, ThinkBlueLA will give away a Fernando bobble head to the first person who correctly guesses the first Dodger to hit the first spring training home of 2013.
Indicate your guess in the comments section below and only one guess will be allowed per person. If more than one person’s name appears in your comment, your submission will be disqualified and deleted.
All guesses must be submitted before the first pitch of the first spring training game, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:05 PM (MST) against the Chicago White Sox at Camelback Ranch.
In the event that more than one person picks the correct Dodger to hit the first spring training home run, the person who submitted their guess first (as indicated by the date and time of their submission) will win the bobble head. In other words, it might be a good idea to look over the previous guesses before making your own – I’m just sayin’. Keep in mind that a number of the top-tier Dodger minor leagues play in these spring training games, too
Also, if no one picks the first Dodger to hit a home run, we will carry the contest over to the second Dodger to hit a home run, and so on, until we have a winner.
The winner will be notified by email unless, of course, they are present when it happens, in which case I will simply hand them the Fernando bobble head.
GOOD LUCK!

Looks like you might be right, 53:
“The star of batting practice was 22-year-old Cuban prospect Yasiel Puig, who drew oohs from onlookers. Almost everything the promising-but-unpolished outfielder hit was hard and on the line, including several deep home runs.
Chris Capuano was shagging balls in left field while Puig was hitting and acknowledged, “I moved out of the way a couple of times instead of catching him. I mean, he was hitting the ball hard. You can definitely see the raw power.”
Mark Ellis!
Carl Crawford
This is so easy! Alex Castellanos.
Hahahha good job Linda… I guess we should have expected the unexpected! I really hope Cruz proves me wrong and shows everyone that last year was no flash in the pan. I’m rootin for the kid!
Way to go, Linda! Don’t know why I thought Curt took Cruz… guess I need to go see my neurologist again!! It’s all Gary’s fault!
