I picked 2 real votes and another just because he was amazing.
Even though they were cheaters, I voted for Bonds and Clemens based on their entire body of work. I don’t particularly like them as human beings, but their achievements were spectacular with or without the enhancements. I also voted for Piazza and I’m not sure whether or not he was a cheater.
Aside from our little voting thing here, this year’s real HOF voting is going to be very interesting, to say the least. A couple of years ago I would have been incensed over the thought of Bonds and Clemens ever making it in, but I now believe that, at some point, they both will – I just don’t think it will happen on the first ballot.
That being said, if they do make it in, then McGwire, Sosa and Palmeiro deserve to be in too – especially Palmeiro (but they will never get my vote).
I picked three players that I think that the BBWAA would vote into the HOF, Edgar Martinez, Mike Piazza and Curt Schilling because I think their career records where very deservant.
Like for Mark McGwire, I think most of the BBWAA will not vote for Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens.
The whole idea here is to vote for the three players that YOU would like to see in the HOF, not the BBWAA.
